The Party of the Hungarian Community (SMK-MKP, Slovakia), as a member party of the European People’s Party (EPP), will attend the Political Assembly of the EPP due to take place on 20 March.
The SMK-MKP does not support any proposal for the exclusion or suspension of the Fidesz party.
Thus far EPP could remain strong only by not allowing any disruption of its unity, especially right ahead of the elections. We shall settle our disagreements through dialogue at all times. The EPP should not yield to the pressure of the European left, which is the one to be blamed for many issues of the rule of law, for example in Slovakia.
