The Party of the Hungarian Community (SMK-MKP) welcomes the Head of the State’s announcement and considers that early parliamentary elections represent the most appropriate solution for Slovakia. The events of the last days have shown that the parties present in the government fail to meet basic ethical and political expectations, they thus have become unfit to govern the country. The SMK-MKP is ready to participate in the negotiations initiated by Andrej Kiska, President of Slovakia.
It is appalling that what a serious maladministration and collusion are emerging after the recent double homicide. Relations brought to light between criminal groups and political representatives, and likely interconnections between the officials of government offices and these groups provide grounds for grave conclusions. Not only because of the brutal murder of the two young people, but also because it has become patently obvious that the governing parties are unable to meet essential national security requirements, it raises serious doubts as to the situation as regards law enforcement and justice, in particular fight against corruption.
